Dehli Sultanate - Motorola Girl
Yeah, I really don’t understand anything this guy is saying. The audio quality isn’t terrible but it is kind of hard to hear what he is saying (I would imagine even if he were speaking English). The DJ behind the rapper seems awfully disgruntled about something. It’s funny to watch him sway back and forth to a much slower pace than the beat. I’m not sure what the hell he is doing, but it looks like he’s having fun.
Viva La Vida Cover
Come see this American Idol wannabe in an American Idol contest wannabe. Who ever is working the camera… what the hell? The singer (can you call it that?) spends most of the time on the left side of the screen! This is a terrible job by the camera man, because this guy shouldn’t be on the screen at all. After he gives a few soul crushing hand gestures throughout the video, it really makes it hard to watch. The cat that is choking that serves as the audio doesn’t help either.
R.R.O.D.
What could possibly be more enjoyable to watch than a music video (the bulk of which looks like it has been done using editing and pictures made in MS Paint) combined with terrible music that seems like it takes the beat almost note for not from 99 Red Balloons. Don’t you just love unoriginality (in total, not just the song)?
Sekukuni
Aside from the so-so audio quality and the very strange camera work (going in and out of going right up to his face. I don’t think he needs a camera directly in his face when he is trying to play), the musical quality of this video is actually quite good. Taken from out of context when you think of a guitar as mostly western music, the guitar work and the singing is quite good.
The Undertaker Tribute
This video could have been fantastic if it used videos of the Phenom as opposed to just regular pictures. It is done fairly well, in covering most of the Undertaker’s Career (even Paul Bearer!!!), but I just think the video needs VIDEO and not just pictures. You just don’t get the same thing from pictures as you do with if you actually saw him doing something like the chokeslam or tombstone - and, if at all possible, showing when Kane and the Undertaker threw Paul Bearer down the sewer. Of course, I stopped watching when I grew up and it changed from the WWF to the WWE because those tough wrestlers get pushed around by PETAs less-sadistic sister who uses a Panda as their icon.
“Freebies”
The hostess of this video looks like she should be in the movie version of Super Mario Bros. You would just have to put a bit of green on her and not much other makeup and she would come out looking like more of a goomba than all of the other green meanies in the video. Slap on a big red trenchcoat and have her dancing in the elevator, and she’ll be well on her way. This video is depicting something you should innately be untrusting of, but when it involves sending “freebies” like… Tylenol PM?? If you are going to take any sort of drug into your body for any reason, you might want to look past the ones that are being given to you for free. Just seems like a basic rule of thumb. If you have time, play the video, watch Super Mario Bros. (or at least the part with the goombas), see the similarity and laugh, then close the video.
10 Years
Dharma and Greg has officially moved to Youtube - or so it would seem. This does seem kind of like it is trying to me too much like the girl and her gay best friend that is far from being monopolized because of the popularity it is enjoying in our increasingly (overly) politically correct world. Follow these two as they… explore the girls make up and hold her Paris Hilton dog…
Intro to Superman
This video is interesting and does have a certain amount of potential to it, but it doesn’t seem like it’s done properly. The video combines scenes for all the different eras of Superman movies and tv shows spanning from the original in the ’50s to the Return of Superman. The one thing I think that would have make this video a lot better was if it was all in black and white. It seems very inconsistent (and I know that might be what the creator was going for) and I think it takes away visually, and it would seem better if it was all on a grayscale filter.
Schoolhouse Rock - Legally Blonde Remix
This video combines the video of Schoolhouse Rock’s “I’m Just a Bill” (albeit strangely) with some video from the movie Legally Blonde (an original one, not the one with Reese Witherspoon). Combining these two things really doesn’t make much of any sense unless I am really missing something. The video itself really isn’t worth watching unless you are looking for examples of how not to use certain fading effects.
Dodgers Fans
Far be it from me to say that these fans acted out of order. Naturally, if a fan enters another team’s stadium, they’re bound to get (verbally) attacked. All my visits to Citizens Bank Park, I’ve never seen fans get bottles of water or much of anything else thrown at them (This includes Florida and the Mets!). Verbal abuse in an Under Armor ‘we must protect this house’ sort of way is all but expected, but actually physically abusing them is very classless (this coming from a Philadelphia fan!). The guy who grabbed the standing fan by the back of the shirt -should- have been escorted out. This video isn’t that good, because (of course, as expected from a Dodgers fan) it doesn’t show the reaction after the Flyin’ Hawaiian’s bomb, and even better the nuclear blast set off by professional hitter Matt Stairs.
Verbal abuse is great for fans (it has to be expected), but the only reason this physical abuse isn’t that bad is because of the Dodgers being bitch-slapped.
Go Phillies.
