EA’s is releasing a new episode in its Need for Speed Series titled Need for Speed Undercover and has released first details on the racing sims next step.

“Need for Speed Undercover takes the franchise back to its roots and re-introduces break-neck cop chases, the world’s hottest cars and spectacular highway battles,” said the firm.

The cover girl for this title will feature Maggie Q, a Hollywood star. This part of the NFS series is expected to continue the story of the that ended abruptly at the conclusion of the NFS Carbon.

This series has lost its credibility in the racing Sim world due to the massive failure of its Pro Street title. Pro Street gone away from a open world illegal street racing to a closed track championship style racing. This had not gone down very well with the hardcore NFS gamers. However, NFS going down to its roots means a whole new expectation from the fans.

Only time will tell if EA retains its top spot in the racing genre of video games…
