If your unsure who DJ Emergency is, well he’s an upcoming rapper trying to make a name for himself.  Two of his music videos kind of caught me in shock when I heard he was not signed, so I wanted to do an interview and find out why and how he got to where he is now.  And to see if he’s looking into the future.

Interviewer: At what age were you, when you first starting to do beats, singing, and all that other stuff?

DJ Emergency:I was age 11 when I started DJing and my uncle inspired me to do it. I loved it and then about the age of 15 I started creating beats on the computer with FLStudio.

Interviewer: If you could trade places with one rapper, who would that be?

DJ Emergency: There are alot of dope rap artists out there, but I wouldn’t switch places with them. I think a rappers style is their style and I wouldn’t trade my style for nothing.

Interviewer: How many hours a week do you spend on your music?

DJ Emergency: I create music day and night. I sleep for maybe 3 hours a day and love doing it. If I was able to eliminate sleep I would.

Interviewer: How do you get by if your working full time on your music?

DJ Emergency:  For now I sell beats online with pmpworldwide.com, rocbattle.com, mybeatshop.com, and a few others. I also sell beats around the area which ain’t bad.  Sometimes I get some artists that pay for studio time which is rare, because every rap artist claims they’re the best and should get everything free around here.

Interviewer: This might be a little personal, but how many times have you been rejected from record companies?

DJ Emergency: Twice.  Once from Asylum Records.   (Eric A&R) told me I wasn’t what he was looking for and told me that my beats were too perfect to be on the radio haha.  Then Atlantic I almost got signed to, but it didn’t happen I guess..

Interviewer: Where are you from and are you looking to do any local events any time soon?

DJ Emergency: Well I’m born from Dayton, Ohio and moved to Jersey. I get a lot of haters in the Dirty Jerz. Everyone wants to be a rapper here, but with production everyone loves it. When it comes to rap artists around here they try to break in to get the beats and try to stop me from rapping. I even had one rap artist kick in my door just to get into the studio.

My interview with DJ Emergency went great, hes really got a great personality.  I’d love to see talent go on and move on to better things.  If you would like to check out his youtube channel and myspace, I will leave the link below this interview!  I want to thank DJ Emergency for his time and responses!
