Undoubtedly one of the greatest boy-bands in history, the Backstreet Boys hype has died down with the death of pop. The group of five who ruled the late 1900s and early 2000s with their record breaking albums and singles are left high and dry with a very small loyal fan base.
The group, who had disbanded, came united to release an album titled, never Gone in 2005. It turned out to be a failure and greatly diminished the return of the “magnificent five”. Their adaptation of a mixture of rock and blues failed to impress their once loyal and die-hard fans. Being the music industry a decade ago, Backstreet Boys are now “just another group”.
Unbreakable, released in 2007, and without Kevin Richardson, did not help to bring the image and popularity of the group to the pre year 2000 level. The Boys are now in studio working to release their next album in Spring 2009. Nothing much has come out on the music style of the compilation, but one thing is certain….the hit or flop of this album will be the ultimate decider on the bands future.
